Deye MC-L430-2H2
Commercial battery energy storage system
The MC-L430-2H2 and MC-L430-2H3 are 200 kW AC battery cabinets with 430.08 kWh of 280 Ah LiFePO4 cells and two SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 power conversion modules. Deye lists RS485, Modbus TCP and DIDO, and its brochure draws the MS-EMS linked to the cabinets over those interfaces. Edge reads the cabinet over Modbus TCP with the project point list from Deye, or measures its 400 V AC feeder with an EpiSensor ZEM.
Compatibility
Compatible with EpiSensor Edge over Modbus TCP, or through an EpiSensor ZEM on the AC feeder
The MC-L430-2H2 and 2H3 manuals list RS485, Modbus TCP and DIDO as the cabinet’s communication interfaces, and Deye’s brochure shows the MS-EMS connected to the storage cabinets over RS485, Modbus TCP and DIDO. Edge is a Modbus TCP client and reads the cabinet with the addresses, data types and units in the project point list from Deye. Edge also measures the cabinet through an EpiSensor ZEM with Rogowski coils on its 380/400 V AC connection: charge and discharge power and energy at the battery’s AC boundary.
MC-L430-2H2 (manual Issue 06, 2026-08-27) and MC-L430-2H3 (manual Issue 07, 2026-07-15) AC cabinets, with up to three MC-L430-BC-2 battery cabinets. Site check: obtain the Modbus TCP endpoint and point list for the installed cabinet and MS-EMS from Deye, and record the nameplate, firmware and battery cabinet count. Read only; dispatch stays with the MS-EMS or the site controller.

Models
| Models | Interface | Route into Edge |
|---|---|---|
| MC-L430-2H2 | AC cabinet: 200 kW rated, 220 kW maximum, 430.08 kWh, 280 Ah LiFePO4 at 768 V DC nominal; two SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 modules; IP54, C4 or better | Read over Modbus TCP with Deye’s project point list, or measure the cabinet’s AC feeder with an EpiSensor ZEM. |
| MC-L430-2H3 | Same power, energy and DC ratings; IP55 battery compartment and chiller control box, IP65 PCS; C4M (C5M optional); noise 75 dBA or less at 1 m | Use the 2H3 manual for enclosure and noise limits, and the point list Deye issues for that cabinet. |
| MC-L430-BC-2 | DC battery cabinet without a PCS; up to three in parallel with one AC cabinet | Its energy reaches the grid through the AC cabinet’s PCS, so the AC cabinet’s feeder carries it. Take battery-cabinet values from the point list Deye issues for the system. |
| MC-LC430-2H2 and MC-LC480-2H2 | PV, battery and EV charging cabinets with their own manuals, cells and ratings | Treat each as a separate product; do not reuse the MC-L430-2H2 ratings. |
Specifications
Each MC-L430 AC cabinet holds ten battery packs, a DC power distribution unit, two SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 PCS modules, an AC power distribution unit, a liquid-cooling system and heat, smoke and gas detectors with thermal aerosol devices and a water inlet for fire suppression.23
Interface
Documented measurements and integration boundaries for MC-L430-2H2.
- Deye does not publish the cabinet’s Modbus TCP point list in the manuals or brochure; the project point list from Deye supplies addresses, function codes, data types, scale factors, word order and power sign.
- From that list, start with identity, operating state, AC active power, state of charge and alarm words, and keep each PCS module, the battery cabinets, the MS-EMS and the site meter as separate sources with their own timestamps.
- Through an EpiSensor ZEM on the AC feeder, Edge records voltage, current and active power per phase and import and export energy at the cabinet’s AC connection.
- Fire alarm and system emergency fault dry contacts stay with the life-safety system. No charge, discharge, export-limit or grid-service command is in scope of this guide; any control needs the site owner’s and Deye’s agreement.
Assessment
MC-L430-2H2 (manual Issue 06) and MC-L430-2H3 (manual Issue 07) AC cabinets with up to three MC-L430-BC-2 battery cabinets. Read-only monitoring; no dispatch or grid-service claim.
- InteroperabilityLimited
- Deye lists Modbus TCP, RS485 and DIDO and draws them between the MS-EMS and the cabinets. The point list is not public, so each project needs Deye’s document before Edge can read the cabinet.24
- AccuracyNot yet assessed
- The retained documents give ratings but no readable point set with units, resolution, sign or update rate.
- SecurityNot yet assessed
- The manuals do not describe authentication, roles or network hardening for the local Modbus TCP interface, so keep it on a protected site network.2
- ReliabilitySupported with conditions
- The manual documents an auxiliary supply with a UPS breaker and a lead-acid battery, a ring network switch and the power-on and power-off sequence. Client recovery and data buffering for the monitoring interface are not described.2
- RuggednessSupported with conditions
- IP54 and C4 (2H2) or IP55, IP65 PCS and C4M (2H3), -25 to +55 °C and up to 2000 m are published for outdoor installation.23
Setup
-
Record the installed system
Record the AC cabinet nameplate (MC-L430-2H2 or MC-L430-2H3), the number of MC-L430-BC-2 battery cabinets, any MS-MPPT400-2 or STS cabinet, the MS-EMS and the firmware shown in Deye EMS. The brochure allows at most three battery cabinets without a PCS in parallel with one AC cabinet. It states up to 10 cabinets in parallel and the product page 8, so confirm the system limit with Deye for the design.
-
Ask Deye for the Modbus TCP point list
The 2H2 manual Issue 06 and 2H3 manual Issue 07 list Modbus TCP in the technical specifications but do not publish the register table or name a third-party port. Ask Deye ESS for the endpoint (IP address, TCP port and unit identifier), the point list for the installed firmware and whether the cabinet or the MS-EMS serves it. Ask whether a second client may poll while the MS-EMS is running.
-
Configure the first reads
In Edge, add a Modbus TCP device at the address Deye gives. From the point list, read identity, operating state, AC active power, state of charge and the alarm words first, with the function code, data type, scale, word order and sign the list states. Compare each value with Deye EMS or the Deye ESS app at the same time before adding more points. A timeout or exception is missing data, not zero.
-
Fit the ZEM on the AC feeder
The two PCS modules each carry up to 166.7 A at 380 V (159.5 A at 400 V), so the cabinet feeder carries up to about 333 A per phase; 1000 A Rogowski coils suit it. A qualified electrician fits them on the three phases between the AC power distribution unit and the site switchboard and takes the ZEM voltage reference from the same circuit. Record which direction is import.
-
Compare during an existing schedule
During a charge or discharge the MS-EMS already schedules, compare the ZEM active power with the cabinet power in Deye EMS over the same interval. Keep the site connection meter separate: it includes loads and PV. Send no new command for the check; dispatch stays with the MS-EMS or the site controller.
Common questions
- How does the MC-L430-2H3 differ from the MC-L430-2H2?
- Power, energy and DC ratings are the same. The 2H3 manual gives IP55 for the battery compartment and chiller control box, IP65 for the PCS, corrosion grade C4M with C5M optional and a noise level of 75 dBA or less at 1 m. The 2H2 manual gives IP54 and C4 or better.23
