ABB Terra 360 CC

DC EV charger

ABB Terra 360 CC is a high-power Mode 4 DC charger with up to 360 kW peak output, 150 to 920 V DC and two CCS2 cable outputs. The technical specification states that it can serve two EVs in parallel and uses OCPP 1.6 to a central system. Optional or readiness statements for payment, ISO 15118 and regulated metering need confirmation in the ordered installation. OCPP does not by itself establish direct EpiSensor Edge monitoring or control.

Compatibility

OCPP central-system path documented; direct Edge integration unverified

ABB documents OCPP 1.6 for Terra 360 central-system communication. That is an EVSE-to-backend connection. The retained sources do not establish an Edge OCPP central system, an Edge import or a field-tested control path.

European Terra 360 CC with two CCS2 cable outputs under the cited technical specification. Terra 360 CJ, configurations with CHAdeMO or AC output, payment terminals, ISO 15118 services and national metering packages require separate order and ecosystem confirmation. No OCPP endpoint or Edge charging profile is supplied here.

Interface

Documented measurements and integration boundaries for Terra 360 CC.

  • The charger can serve two EVs in parallel, but 360 kW is the cabinet peak. Dynamic allocation and vehicle limits determine each connector's power.
  • The specification says ready for Eichrecht/PTB and MID compliance. Readiness is not proof that every ordered meter and operating process is certified.
  • ISO 15118-2 Plug & Charge requires ecosystem integration. A compatible vehicle connector does not establish active authorization service.

Assessment

Terra 360 CC technical-specification scope; optional services and direct Edge integration remain unverified.

InteroperabilitySupported with conditions
OCPP 1.6 is documented, but central-system implementation, security profile and direct Edge use need qualification.2
AccuracyLimited
Power ranges and metering readiness are stated, while exact meter accuracy, certificate and billing process remain configuration-specific.2
SecurityNot yet assessed
The retained public material does not state the installed OCPP transport security or credential policy.
ReliabilitySupported with conditions
Parallel output, efficiency and service tooling are described; reconnection and fallback need installed-system testing.12
RuggednessSupported with conditions
IP54 and IK10 are stated, but siting, cable management and regional installation conditions still need serial-specific instructions.2
ScalabilitySupported with conditions
Two simultaneous outputs and dynamic allocation are documented; site capacity and central-system design govern a multi-charger estate.12
LifecycleSupported with conditions
ABB provides product and technical material plus online/local service tools; firmware and configuration records need operational control.12

Setup

  1. Confirm the model plate identifies Terra 360 CC and record the exact output, cable, meter, payment and emergency-stop options.

Do not infer the configuration from cabinet appearance.

  2. Have authorised personnel verify supply capacity, protection, civil works, vehicle access, cable reach and environmental limits against ABB installation material for the serial number.

  3. Agree the OCPP version, endpoint, credentials, charge-point identity and connector mapping with the selected central system.

Confirm acceptance before enabling remote operation.

  4. Run a bounded charge on each CCS2 output and then the approved simultaneous-use case.

Compare cabinet total power, per-connector power, energy, state and timestamps.

  5. Test network and backend loss, local stop functions and recovery.

Record observed physical behavior separately from backend messages.

Common questions

Can both CCS2 outputs deliver 360 kW simultaneously?
No. ABB states 360 kW peak for the charger and dynamic allocation between two EVs. Vehicle demand and the configured cabinet limit determine each output.12
Does meter readiness prove compliant billing?
No. The specification describes readiness for Eichrecht/PTB and MID compliance. Confirm the installed meter, certificate, software and operating process for the country.2
Can Edge control Terra 360 directly over OCPP?
The sources establish an OCPP 1.6 connection to a central system, but do not establish Edge as that central system or document a tested Edge integration.2
