GoodWe GW100K/GW110K/GW120K-HT

Commercial PV inverter

GoodWe labels the GW100K, GW110K and GW120K-HT family as SunSpec-compliant Modbus RTU and documents RS-485 wiring to GoodWe loggers and other inverters. The retained documents do not establish a direct third-party polling role or exact read map. Compatibility remains unverified.

Compatibility

Direct Edge integration not yet verified

The exact-family datasheet names SunSpec-compliant Modbus RTU, but the retained manual documents RS-485 primarily for GoodWe loggers, inverter chains and accessories rather than a direct third-party client contract.

GW100K-HT, GW110K-HT or GW120K-HT only. Obtain the exact firmware-matched third-party protocol document and confirm the RS-485 port role before proposing an Edge path.

Specifications

GW100K-HT is rated 100 kW with ten MPPTs; GW110K-HT and GW120K-HT are rated 110 and 120 kW with twelve MPPTs. All three are 400 V three-phase models in the retained datasheet.2

Interface

Documented measurements and integration boundaries for GW100K/GW110K/GW120K-HT.

  • Potential inverter identity, production and state points require an exact firmware-matched GoodWe map before publication.
  • A logger or accessory value must be attributed to its actual measurement point rather than assumed to be an inverter value.
  • No setpoint, export-control or protection point is approved by this guide.

Assessment

GW100K-HT, GW110K-HT or GW120K-HT pending exact third-party interface evidence.

InteroperabilityLimited
The exact family is labelled SunSpec Modbus RTU, but the public manual does not establish a direct third-party client contract or exact map.12
AccuracyNot yet assessed
The retained documents do not identify the exact readable point set, data types, units or unavailable-value behavior for a third-party client.12
SecurityLimited
The named Modbus RTU interface has no documented authentication or encryption, so any future path would require physical and client controls.2
ReliabilitySupported with conditions
Electrical, environmental and installation limits are published; third-party communication recovery remains unverified.12
RuggednessSupported with conditions
IP66, temperature and installation limits are published for the exact HT ratings.12
ScalabilityLimited
Multi-inverter and GoodWe logger topologies are shown, but third-party addressing, client coexistence and polling limits are not established.13
LifecycleSupported with conditions
GoodWe publishes revisioned exact-family manuals and accessory compatibility material; the missing protocol revision must be retained before integration.123

Setup

  1. Record the exact model

Capture GW100K-HT, GW110K-HT or GW120K-HT, the full product code, serial number, firmware and installed communication module.

  2. Map the commissioned topology

Identify every inverter, GoodWe logger, SEC1000 or Smart Energy Controller, smart meter and RS-485 chain. Record which device is the client and which are servers.

  3. Obtain the missing interface evidence

Request the exact firmware-matched third-party protocol manual, server role, address convention, supported function codes and readable register model from GoodWe.

  4. Keep control outside the proposal

Do not propose export limitation, active-power control, reactive-power control or grid-setting writes. Those functions belong to a separately engineered vendor control system.

  5. Reassess before drawing a route

Only publish a connection path after the exact model, port role, coexistence limits and point map have been verified on the installed system.

Common questions

Does SunSpec-compliant Modbus RTU prove a direct Edge path?
No. The exact client/server role, firmware map, addressing and coexistence limits are still missing from the retained public documents.12
Can the smart-meter port be used as the inverter-monitoring bus?
The manual assigns distinct accessory and logger roles. Do not repurpose a meter connection or assume that its measurements represent inverter production.1
Does this guide support export or power control?
No. GoodWe documents vendor controllers for such functions, but this guide publishes no Edge control route or write operation.13
