Smart switches, energy plugs and local home automation
Sinopé Technologies makes connected thermostats, water-heater controls and gateways for residential and multi-residential energy management.
Sinopé Technologies approaches home energy management through the equipment that controls the load. Its range includes thermostats, water-heater controllers and gateways, rather than only a meter at the incoming supply. The company history traces separate generations of Mi-Wi, Zigbee and Wi-Fi products.
That history is relevant to an existing property: the brand name alone does not identify the network. The GT130 gateway is part of the Zigbee architecture, while Wi-Fi devices take a different connection path. A useful inventory records the model and radio technology alongside the heating or water system it controls. This makes later replacement and expansion much clearer than grouping everything under a generic smart-home label.
The TH1123ZB and TH1124ZB thermostats are Zigbee models for electric heating. They belong to a different application from a low-voltage thermostat intended to signal another heating controller. The electrical load and supply requirements remain part of the model choice, even when both products present a temperature setpoint to an app.
Calypso RM3500ZB is a dedicated Zigbee water-heater controller. It brings another substantial household load into the control system, rather than measuring every circuit in the property. Pairing room heating control with a water-heater controller can therefore address different end uses, but their readings and operating states should retain those distinct meanings in any energy view.
Gateway connecting compatible Sinopé devices to Neviweb.6
Sinopé's thermostat support guidance states that the Zigbee TH1123ZB and TH1124ZB do not connect to the older GT125 Mi-Wi gateway. This is a concrete compatibility boundary, not simply a difference in product age. A replacement hub must match the radio technology used by the installed devices.
The GT130 connects the Zigbee devices to the manufacturer's Neviweb environment through an Ethernet network connection. Its documented local storage of instructions does not make the complete Neviweb service an offline system. With another Zigbee gateway, the available controls and measurements depend on that gateway's model support; radio pairing alone does not establish equivalence with the manufacturer's app or energy programmes.
Sinopé describes a multi-residential Zigbee deployment in which connected thermostats and other devices work through a gateway within the property. This is useful context for apartments and managed residential buildings, where heating is distributed across rooms and units rather than concentrated at one central plant.
The Calypso controller extends the same energy-control discussion to electric water heating. Its demand-related features belong to a particular device and service arrangement. A thermostat or relay can make a load controllable, but the building's occupancy needs, available flexibility and programme requirements still determine when a change is appropriate. Device capability and participation in a utility programme are separate parts of the design.
Sinopé Technologies dates its founding to 2010, initially designing products for other companies as an OEM. Its history records the later introduction of own-brand Mi-Wi devices, Neviweb and then Zigbee and Wi-Fi ranges. The company's account of its operations places its offices in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec.
For buyers, the breadth of that history is a reason to keep exact model references in the specification. Several generations can coexist in the market while using different communications. The practical value of the current documentation is in identifying which gateway, heating application and feature set belongs to each product, rather than treating all devices carrying the Sinopé name as interchangeable.
