Sungrow PowerTitan 2.0 ST5015UX

Commercial and utility battery energy storage system

PowerTitan 2.0 integrates a 5,015 kWh LFP battery container with PCS, cooling, fire-system options and online monitoring. The current US datasheet names Ethernet, but does not publish an external point map, endpoint role, authentication or client permissions. Direct Edge integration remains unverified.

Compatibility

Direct Edge integration not yet verified

The exact-family datasheet names Ethernet and online monitoring without defining a public read-only server, firmware map or coexistence contract for Edge.

ST5015UX-2H-US and ST5015UX-4H-US, datasheet version 5. Confirm regional variant, PCS arrangement, firmware and project EMS before use. No control or safety authority is transferred.

Interface

Documented measurements and integration boundaries for PowerTitan 2.0 ST5015UX.

  • Potential identity, state of charge, state of health, power, energy, temperatures and alarms need an approved external point map.
  • Container BMS, PCS, EMS and connection-point meter values are separate sources and must retain unit, sign, quality and timestamp.
  • Fire detection, suppression, ventilation and emergency signals remain in the approved life-safety system.
  • No charge, discharge, reactive-power, grid-service, protection or emergency command is approved by this guide.

Assessment

ST5015UX-2H-US and ST5015UX-4H-US, datasheet version 5. Confirm regional variant, PCS arrangement, firmware and project EMS before use. No control or safety authority is transferred.

InteroperabilityLimited
The manufacturer names relevant communications, but the retained public evidence does not provide a complete firmware-matched, read-only third-party interface contract.12
AccuracyNot yet assessed
The externally readable point set, units, sign conventions, quality states and freshness rules are not established.12
SecurityNot yet assessed
Authentication, encryption, roles and read-only privilege separation for an independent client are not defined in the retained public sources.12
ReliabilityLimited
System operating limits are published, while client recovery, stale-data behaviour and concurrent-client limits remain project-specific.12
RuggednessSupported with conditions
The datasheet publishes enclosure, corrosion, temperature and altitude limits; the site design must satisfy them.12
ScalabilityLimited
Two PCS arrangements are published, while plant-level client limits and multi-container polling are not.12
LifecycleSupported with conditions
Current product and datasheet material exists; firmware, warranty and service records remain project-specific.12

Setup

  1. Confirm the delivered system

Record every enclosure, battery rack, PCS, BMS, EMS, meter and controller identity, plus firmware, software, network and contract revisions.

  2. Map authority before data

Document which system owns charge and discharge, protection, fire and life safety, grid control, market dispatch, settlement, warranty and emergency response.

  3. Obtain the interface contract

Require the exact endpoint role, firmware-matched point map, authentication, permissions, units, sign conventions, quality states, timestamps, update rates and client limits.

  4. Prove read-only monitoring

Begin with an approved read-only allowlist. Compare identity, state, power, energy and alarms with the authoritative system and an independent connection-point meter.

Common questions

Does Ethernet prove a direct Edge path?
No. The public material does not define the endpoint role, point map, firmware scope, authentication, permissions or parallel-client rules.2
Can Edge dispatch the BESS from this guide?
No. Charge, discharge, reactive power, grid services and emergency actions require a separate engineered control and safety case.2
Can battery values replace the connection-point meter?
No. Battery and PCS telemetry are operational values. Grid control, protection and settlement retain their commissioned independent measurements.2
