Overview

NodOn makes the small controls that sit close to a building's loads: relay modules, room sensors and wall switches. Its catalogue separates radio protocol from function, so a heating control, an energy monitor and a batteryless switch are different choices even when they belong to the same range.

The useful distinction is between adding remote control and adding measurement. A relay can change the state of an appliance without reporting its energy use. Likewise, a wireless wall switch can provide a user command without being a meter or a load-switching device. NodOn's product families cover these roles separately, which helps when adapting existing rooms rather than replacing an entire building system.

Offering

The SIN-4-1-20 multifunction module is a Zigbee relay for equipment control. The SIN-4-1-21 adds instantaneous power and accumulated energy measurement. That suffix matters when the purpose is to understand a load as well as operate it. A dashboard cannot obtain consumption measurements from a relay that does not provide them.

NodOn also offers a batteryless Zigbee wall switch. It is a different installation proposition from a powered relay hidden behind a switch or mounted with an enclosure. The wall control sends user actions; the receiving system and actuator perform the load control. Selecting those parts together avoids confusing the user interface with the equipment carrying the electrical load.

Technology

The SIN-4-1-21 product documentation explicitly distinguishes gateway compatibility from measurement support. It names gateways that can operate the module but do not return its consumption readings. This is a useful warning for integration design: successful pairing and an on/off button are not proof that the required power and energy values are available.

The product catalogue also contains both Zigbee and EnOcean equipment. Those are separate radio choices, not interchangeable names for wireless communication. The selected gateway needs the matching protocol and model support. For an existing installation, retaining the complete module reference and checking the particular features used is more useful than relying on a brand-wide compatibility statement.

Markets

NodOn's connected-building range addresses homes, commercial buildings, industrial premises and supported housing. Its compact controls are particularly relevant where an existing appliance or room needs an additional command or measurement point. The application still determines whether the required function is switching, temperature sensing, shading or energy measurement.

For equipment manufacturers, Engineering Partnership is a separate route to a custom product. The offering covers the device function, radio technology, physical design and firmware. This differs from purchasing an off-the-shelf module: the outcome is a product development project with its own specification, rather than a universal adapter that adds every protocol to an existing device.

Company

NodOn's company history dates the brand's creation to 2013 and its integration into Altyor to 2018. Its legal notice identifies NodOn SAS in Saint-Cyr-en-Val, France. The company describes both own-brand equipment and OEM/ODM design and manufacturing.

That combination matters when evaluating its range. A catalogue device has a specific reference and documented behaviour, while an OEM variant may carry a different brand, firmware or feature set. NodOn's engineering offering expressly includes custom firmware and industrial design. Similar appearance therefore does not establish identical integration behaviour, and a published specification for one branded module should remain tied to that module.
