Heating controls, metering plugs and connected relays
QUNDIS makes heat and water metering equipment, with wired M-Bus and radio reading systems for building consumption billing.
QUNDIS supplies meters and reading infrastructure for building heat and water consumption. Its company description centres on consumption-based billing, rather than electrical power analysis. That distinction matters for a mixed-utility project: heat energy, water volume and electricity require different instruments even when the readings ultimately appear in the same application.
The heat-meter portfolio includes both radio-integrated and wired M-Bus models. Buying a device with the right flow range does not settle how its readings will reach the software. Specify the communication variant alongside the pipe connection, installation length and metering requirements.
The Q heat 5.5 US M-Bus / Impuls-IN combines ultrasonic heat measurement, an integrated wired M-Bus interface and two pulse inputs. Q heat 5.5 US R instead integrates radio communication. The R suffix and the M-Bus / Impuls-IN designation therefore describe materially different collection arrangements.
The same product page lists nominal flow rates and installation lengths for each variant. Those values should be checked against the hydraulic installation before selecting a communication gateway. A temperature probe pair on its own is not an equivalent replacement for a heat meter that also measures flow.
The Q M-Bus system follows EN 13757 and includes level converters, repeaters and building control centres. A level converter gives direct access to meters; the control centre cyclically reads and temporarily stores their values. This changes where polling, buffering and remote access are provided in the system.
QUNDIS also offers a Q pulse M-Bus adapter for meters with pulse outputs. Pulse collection preserves accumulated increments, not every richer field a native meter interface might supply. The system documentation identifies these distinct components rather than treating an M-Bus connection as a complete data-management service.
Apartment buildings and commercial properties are the primary setting described in the heat-meter catalogue. Radio collection can reduce the need for access to occupied premises, while the wired system is presented for buildings where construction limits radio transmission. Existing cabling and access arrangements therefore influence the choice as much as the meter itself.
For a wider energy application, retain the meter identity, unit and reading date through the import path. Billing use also needs the appropriate metrological approval and service arrangements. Neither a common protocol nor a displayed value alone establishes that a complete billing installation meets its requirements.
The legal notice identifies QUNDIS GmbH at Sonnentor 2, Erfurt, Germany. Its company information lists other locations separately, and the company page identifies membership of the noventic group. This profile concerns QUNDIS metering products, not every company in the parent group.
QUNDIS gives 2009 as its founding year on the company profile linked from its official website. This is distinct from the longer experience of predecessor consumption-data businesses. Product selection is instead supported by the current model and system pages linked above.
