DEIF AGC 150 Stand-alone
Generator set controller
AGC 150 Stand-alone is a non-synchronising controller for one generator set. DEIF publishes an exact datasheet, a Modbus server user manual and a separate current Modbus table. The interface supports read and write functions, so a monitoring deployment must explicitly allow only the required reads.

Compatibility
Documented AGC 150 Modbus server
DEIF publishes an exact-model Modbus server manual for TCP and serial connections plus a versioned server table. Edge can act as a read-only Modbus client after the installed software version and current table are matched.
AGC 150 Stand-alone generator controller, datasheet 4921240619-F1 and Modbus server user manual 4189341435-D. This is the non-synchronising stand-alone variant, not AGC 150 Hybrid, ATS, Engine drive or an ASC controller. Use only read functions and the current DEIF table. Do not issue start, stop, breaker, mode, parameter or I/O writes.

Models
| Models | Interface | Route into Edge |
|---|---|---|
| AGC 150 Stand-alone generator | Ethernet, USB, two RS-485 ports, CAN A ECU and CAN B PMS | Use the exact stand-alone Modbus server documents and installed software version. |
| AGC 150 Hybrid, ATS, Engine drive and marine variants | Different applications, I/O and documentation | Do not reuse this model scope or table without exact variant evidence. |
| AGC 150 Remote Display | Display accessory rather than the generator controller | Connect monitoring to the controller interface defined by DEIF, not to a similarly named display. |
Specifications
The Modbus manual documents both reads and writes. Monitoring clients must use an allowlist of read-only table entries rather than exposing the complete server surface.23
- Application
- One genset in non-synchronising island, AMF or open-transition load take-over operation2
- Modbus transports
- Modbus TCP server and serial Modbus server on configured communications ports3
- Read functions
- Coils, discrete inputs, holding registers and input registers are documented; configurable read-only input-register area is available3
- Write boundary
- Single and multiple coil/register writes are documented by DEIF but excluded from this guide3
- Communications
- Ethernet, USB, two RS-485 ports and two CAN interfaces2
- Supply and environment
- 8 to 36 V DC continuous; -40 to +70 °C operating range; IP65 front when installed with the supplied gasket2
Interface
Documented measurements and integration boundaries for AGC 150 Stand-alone.
- Generator voltage, current, frequency, active power, reactive power, apparent power and power factor from current table entries.
- Engine speed, run hours, battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature and available ECU observations.
- Controller mode, generator and mains status, breaker feedback, alarms and communication status as read-only observations.
- Parameters, coils, outputs, start, stop and breaker commands exist in the broader server interface but remain outside this guide.
Assessment
AGC 150 Stand-alone with current DEIF Modbus server table and explicit read-only client policy; no operational writes.
- InteroperabilityWell supported
- DEIF publishes the exact controller datasheet, Modbus server manual, supported functions and a separate current address table.123
- AccuracySupported with conditions
- Three-phase measuring circuits and generator and engine values are documented; CT/VT setup and the current address table govern interpretation.23
- SecurityLimited
- Password levels and protected configuration are documented, but Modbus exposes write functions and does not establish encrypted or authenticated sessions.23
- ReliabilitySupported with conditions
- Supply, environmental, EMC, diagnostics and alarm functions are documented; client loading and recovery still require commissioning checks.2
- RuggednessSupported with conditions
- The datasheet publishes panel-front IP65, temperature, humidity, vibration, shock and installation limits.2
- ScalabilitySupported with conditions
- Two serial ports and Ethernet support several architecture choices, while address management and polling load remain site responsibilities.23
- LifecycleWell supported
- DEIF maintains an exact product documentation hub with versioned manuals, tables, certificates and configuration material.1
Setup
-
Confirm the controller label says AGC 150 Stand-alone and record its application, software version and DEIF configuration archive.
Obtain the current English Modbus server table from the cited documentation page.
-
Have the generator engineer enable and assign one monitoring interface.
Record TCP or serial settings and preserve the control owner's network and breaker design.
-
Create a small read-only allowlist from the exact table revision.
Exclude all write functions, coils or registers that can change mode, start state, breaker state, parameters or physical outputs.
-
Read controller identity, operating mode and a small measurement set.
Compare generator voltage, frequency, power and run state with the AGC display in a safe operating state.
-
Test loss and restoration of communications without changing controller operation.
A successful read proves the data path, not physical generator or breaker action.
Common questions
- Is AGC 150 Stand-alone a synchronising controller?
- No. DEIF describes this variant as a non-synchronising controller for one genset. Other AGC 150 variants need their own exact documentation.2
