Residential and commercial battery storage systems
Pylontech makes lithium iron phosphate batteries, from 48 V rack modules and high-voltage home towers to commercial cabinets and utility containers. It sells mainly through distributors and installers, with published compatibility lists for pairing its batteries with third-party inverters.
Pylon Technologies Co., Ltd. was founded in Shanghai in 2009 and built its business on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) storage. Its company profile dates the first export deliveries to 2013 and the first gigawatt-hour of cumulative system deliveries to 2018. On 30 December 2020 it listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market under code 688063, raising more than CNY 2 billion according to its 2021 announcement, which also describes it as the first storage-focused company on that board.
The company is best known to installers for 48 V rack modules such as the US series, which appear on the tested-pairing lists of dozens of hybrid and off-grid inverter brands. Two things set it apart from most module suppliers. It makes its own cells, modules, BMS and EMS, as the profile states, and it publishes long, firmware-specific inverter compatibility lists for its low-voltage and high-voltage ranges. The portfolio has since grown upwards into high-voltage home batteries, all-in-one hybrid systems, commercial cabinets and utility containers.
The company reports more than 2,000,000 energy storage units delivered to more than 90 countries. Listed-company reporting shows how fast volume moves with the residential market: product sales reached 3,431 MWh in the first half of 2026, 158% up on a year earlier.
The US5000 is a 48 V, 4.8 kWh rack module (4.56 kWh usable) that runs up to 16 modules in one string and talks to the inverter over RS485 or CAN. The Fidus Battery Plus is a 51.2 V, 16 kWh unit for homes and small businesses, and a 20.07 kWh Fidus Max extends the same low-voltage family. Both name CAN and RS485.
High-voltage home storage comes from stackable towers. The Force H3 uses 5.12 kWh, 102.4 V modules and reaches 35.84 kWh per system at 716.8 V, with Modbus RTU and CAN. ReefMagic uses 7.5 kWh modules from 15 kWh to 75 kWh per tower and up to 450 kWh in parallel, with an IP65 enclosure. The Force H3X is different in kind: battery, BMS, hybrid inverter and EMS in one product, in single-phase (5.12 kWh to 20.48 kWh) and three-phase (10.24 kWh to 35.84 kWh) versions, connected over Wi-Fi, WLAN and Bluetooth.
OPTIM cabinets cover commercial sites. The A100-HY is an air-cooled 104 kWh hybrid cabinet scaling from 52 kWh to 520 kWh, and the liquid-cooled L260-OMNI holds 260 kWh per cabinet. Containers run from about 1 MWh to 5 MWh, and the PyOcean system shown in June 2026 reaches 6.4 MWh on the company's own 601 Ah cells.
Pylontech Cloud monitors battery, inverter, load, PV and grid, schedules charging against tariffs and pushes over-the-air firmware updates. The site also links to Voltdeer balcony storage and portable power products.
On the low-voltage modules the BMS reports to the inverter over CAN or RS485, and which one applies depends on the inverter. The 48 V compatibility list, version 2.46 updated 7 July 2026, covers the US3000D, US5000, US5000B, UP5000D, UF5000, Pelio-L and FB-L models. It records the bus for each inverter (CAN for Victron via Venus OS, SMA Sunny Island and Schneider Conext XW Pro; RS485 at 9600 baud for Voltronic Axpert and several Growatt SPF models; RS485 at 115200 baud or CAN for Sofar), plus whether activation and forced charging work and the minimum inverter firmware. Its footnotes carry real exceptions: Force L1 and L2 do not work with SMA Sunny Island, and Pelio-L and UF5000 are excluded from one entry.
The high-voltage list, version 2.45, gives allowed module counts for Force H1, H2, H3 and ReefMagic per inverter. KOSTAL PLENTICORE runs over RS485 and most others over CAN. Only the V2 Force H1 and H2 work with SMA Sunny Boy Storage, and only Force H3 with BMS firmware 1.6 or later works with SMA Sunny Boy Smart Energy. A family name therefore does not guarantee the same interface.
Commercial cabinets expose Modbus: the L260-OMNI over Ethernet (Modbus TCP), the A100-HY over Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU. Pylontech reports that it makes its own cells, and its 2026 utility container uses its own 601 Ah LFP cells. The low-voltage CAN and RS485 protocol documents themselves are not on the downloads page.

Pylontech sells mainly through distributors, installers and inverter partners, so most of its end customers are homeowners and businesses who never deal with it directly. Overseas customers accounted for 72.43% of 2025 revenue, according to EnergyTrend, and first-half 2026 reporting describes steady shipments in Europe and faster growth in the US and Japan, according to China Securities Journal coverage of the half-year report.
In March 2026 it signed a memorandum of understanding with DAT Group, a Vietnamese industrial automation and energy company, for 150 MWh of storage, as described in its Vietnam announcement. That is a memorandum, not a firm order. Its BloombergNEF Tier 1 release names two Chinese utility projects: a 200 MW / 400 MWh project in Yinchuan, Ningxia, and the 120 MW / 240 MWh Huadian Yizheng energy storage station in Jiangsu.
The commercial pages list unnamed case studies, including a 40 MW / 80 MWh peak shaving and demand response system in China in 2024 and 1 MW / 2 MWh grid service systems in Europe. These are company-reported and do not name the site owners.
Energy S.p.A., which the company says has worked with it for more than ten years, is its partner in the Italian factory joint venture. Inverter makers appear in the compatibility lists as tested pairings, not as resellers.
Residential storage remains the core. The company profile claims it ranked first among residential storage suppliers by global market share in 2022 and has delivered to more than 90 countries. The profile's map marks European branches in Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK.
The profile lists sales and service operations in the United States, Australia, Japan, South Africa and several European countries, plus service points across Latin America, Africa and Asia. In Europe the Padua factory adds local supply, which the company links to European partners' demand for a secure supply chain and to the EU Net Zero Industry Act.
The company now sells into three segments: home storage (low-voltage modules and high-voltage towers), commercial and industrial cabinets, and utility containers. Light electric vehicle batteries and sodium-ion cells for start-stop and two-wheeler use are newer lines. In 2025 storage made up RMB 2.66 billion of RMB 3.164 billion revenue, according to EnergyTrend's summary of the annual report, and sodium-ion starter battery shipments passed 150 MWh.
Pylon Technologies is listed on the Shanghai STAR Market as 688063. The exchange's company snapshot records its founding on 28 October 2009 and lists 中兴新通讯有限公司 (Zhongxing Xintongxun) as the largest shareholder, with 27.91% at 31 March 2021. Headquarters moved into a new global head office in 2024, at Kangqiao, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, per the contact details.
The company profile lists three manufacturing bases. The first, in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, opened in 2012. A second, in Hefei, Anhui, followed in 2023. The third is in Italy: a factory at Sant'Angelo di Piove di Sacco near Padua, owned by Pylon LiFeEU S.r.l., a 50:50 joint venture with Energy S.p.A. reported by pv magazine in 2023. It opened in March 2025 with a first line of about 400 MWh a year. Certificates from TÜV SÜD and Intertek name a factory in Kunshan, Jiangsu for the certified US5000 and Force H3 units.
Revenue reached RMB 3.164 billion in 2025, up 57.81%, and net profit roughly doubled to RMB 84.73 million, according to Tonghuashun. First-half 2026 revenue was RMB 2.644 billion, up 130%, with 3,431 MWh sold.

A large, listed LFP battery maker whose home modules are among the most widely paired with third-party inverters. The strongest evidence is practical: firmware-specific compatibility lists for both voltage classes and third-party certificates from CSA Group, TÜV SÜD and Intertek. Weaker points: the BMS protocol documents are not on its own site, the cloud and over-the-air updates have no public security certification, and profits have been volatile through the 2024 downturn. Commercial and utility claims rest mostly on company case studies without named owners.
Independent sources Proven: compatibility lists 2.46 (48 V, July 2026) and 2.45 (high voltage, August 2026) name the bus, baud rate, module counts and minimum firmware for each inverter, with model-level exclusions.
Independent sources More than 2,000,000 units in 90+ countries is company-reported; 3,431 MWh of product sales in the first half of 2026 and RMB 3.164 billion of 2025 revenue come from listed-company reporting covered by Chinese financial press.
Independent sources Listed on the STAR Market since December 2020 and audited annually.
Independent sources The range runs from 4.8 kWh modules to 6.4 MWh containers, with hybrid all-in-one units and a cloud for monitoring, tariff scheduling and firmware updates.
