Overview

Efento develops wireless measurement devices, gateways and a hosted platform for collecting and analysing their data. Its company history describes an integrated portfolio built around Bluetooth Low Energy and cellular IoT sensors, Efento Cloud and mobile applications. The range extends from temperature and humidity to pressure, air quality, pulse counts, water leaks and analogue interfaces. Bluetooth devices use a nearby phone or gateway, whereas NB-IoT sensors communicate through a cellular network. This distinction allows the same monitoring business to cover dense groups of indoor sensors and dispersed measurement points without requiring the same network architecture at every location.

Offering

The 4–20 mA interface connects analogue transmitters to Efento's wireless monitoring system. It belongs to a wider catalogue that also includes 0–10 V interfaces and pulse counters, alongside instruments with their own environmental sensors. Efento's documented analogue configurations can combine two current inputs and two voltage inputs, with battery or external sensor power depending on the configuration. Its 2023 Cloud update introduced conversion of analogue readings into engineering values. The distinction matters for a pressure or level transmitter: the received current and the displayed physical quantity are related through a configured scale rather than being separate measurements.

Products and platforms

  1. Bluetooth 4–20 mA interface

    Analogue sensor interface

Connects current-output transducers to Bluetooth collection; remote monitoring requires the corresponding gateway path.3

  2. Efento NB-IoT sensors

    Direct-cellular sensors

Environmental and analogue-interface models communicating through NB-IoT, with Bluetooth configuration.4

  3. Efento Gateway Bluetooth–LTE

    BLE collection gateway

LTE Cat1 backhaul, buffered measurements and backup battery; indoor operating specification.5

Technology

The Bluetooth–LTE gateway collects local Bluetooth sensor measurements and forwards them over an LTE Cat 1 connection. Its specified bands are 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 28. The indoor model uses USB-C power, accepts a nano-SIM and includes a backup battery rated for up to 12 hours. Efento specifies storage for 500,000 measurements and AES-128 protection for Bluetooth communication. This gateway is distinct from the company's NB-IoT loggers, which contain their own cellular connection. Efento's catalogue also includes Ethernet and PoE gateway options for installations with a wired network connection.

Markets

Efento's ThingsBoard tutorial documents connecting its NB-IoT sensors to that platform, showing an integration route beyond Efento Cloud. The company's Cloud release notes describe engineering-unit conversion for analogue measurements, NB-IoT signal-quality information and changes to alert rules. Its mobile application supports measurements, alerts, reports and configuration, while the hosted platform stores and analyses sensor readings. The corporate timeline records newer developments separately, including the 2025 Bluetooth–LTE gateway and 2026 personalised dashboards. The offering therefore combines finished monitoring software with documented paths for delivering measurements to other IoT applications.

Company

Efento was founded by three partners in Krakow in March 2014, according to its company timeline. Initial Bluetooth temperature loggers served medical refrigerators and other temperature-monitoring applications. The company launched Efento Cloud and its Bluetooth–Ethernet gateway in 2016, followed by NB-IoT development and a broader sensor catalogue. On 31 December 2021 it changed legal form to Efento spolka z o.o.; that date is a legal transition rather than the start of the business. Its contact information identifies Krakow, Poland. The company now supplies hardware, hosted software and integration documentation through its own operation and distribution partners.
