Technology

The platform object definitions distinguish meters from sensors. A meter object represents consumption or index information associated with a site and can be linked to billing and manual readings. A sensor object represents automatically collected measurements, including energy and influencing conditions such as temperature. The data-flow guide separately distinguishes bills, readings and remote readings, whose time steps can differ. That structure matters when comparing totals and trends: a monthly invoice and a short-interval sensor series are different evidence streams. N’Gage can organise both, while preserving the identity of the site and delivery point to which they belong.
