Industrial computing and remote I/O for field measurements
Adeunis makes wireless building sensors and industrial interfaces, including a LoRaWAN bridge for Modbus RTU equipment.
Adeunis makes wireless sensing products and services for building operation, energy management and maintenance. Its portfolio combines sensors that make a measurement with interfaces that collect values from equipment already installed. That distinction matters in retrofit work: adding radio connectivity to a meter does not change what the meter measures.
The MODBUS interface, for example, connects a serial instrument to a LoRaWAN network. The resulting system still needs the instrument's register definitions, the correct electrical connection and an application that interprets the radio payload. It is an alternative collection path where a new data cable is inconvenient, rather than a replacement for the underlying measurement instrument.
The MODBUS device can communicate with up to twenty Modbus slaves through RS485 or RS232. Adeunis describes configurable register reads and writes, with six periodic frames that can use different transmission frequencies. It requires an external 6–30 V DC supply; it should not be specified as a battery-only installation.
This is useful where a plant room already contains compatible meters, counters or controllers. The interface gathers selected values instead of transporting every serial exchange transparently. The project's point list therefore determines register selection and reporting frequency. A small set of cumulative meter totals and a continuously sampled waveform are very different workloads, even when both originate in a Modbus instrument.
Adeunis supplies regional radio variants and documents Class A or Class C operation for its MODBUS interface. The radio region, power supply and operating class belong in the equipment specification alongside the serial settings. Local USB-C configuration and remote downlinks provide different configuration paths.
Adeunis also publishes documentation and assistance resources for installation, device protocols and fleet tools. A decoder interprets a device payload after the LoRaWAN network has received it; it does not establish that the serial wiring or source register is correct. Commissioning therefore benefits from comparing one known register value at the instrument, at the interface and in the final application before adding the remaining points.
Adeunis describes smart buildings, cities and industry as markets for its wireless products, with emphasis on energy performance, comfort and maintenance. A building project might combine room measurements with values from an existing technical system. An industrial project may instead start with a few operating counters or meter totals at locations that are expensive to cable.
The serial interface is particularly relevant when equipment already exposes useful measurements. Its advantage depends on choosing an appropriate number of points and reporting intervals for the radio network. Where a fast local control loop is required, periodically transmitted monitoring values serve a different purpose and should not be treated as a substitute for that control connection.
Adeunis is based in Crolles, France. Euronext's 2017 listing announcement records its foundation in 2000 in Crolles. That history concerns the company rather than a guarantee that every current product shares the same hardware, radio or software lifecycle.
The current company description combines connected devices with configuration, decoding and deployment support. For an equipment buyer, the useful comparison is the whole route from the original measurement to an application: sensor or serial interface, radio infrastructure, payload interpretation and operational maintenance. Keeping those responsibilities separate makes it easier to compare Adeunis hardware with another manufacturer's sensor or with a wired collection approach.
