myenergi: EV charging, solar-surplus heating and home battery storage

myenergi combines EV charging, solar-surplus heating, battery storage and household energy monitoring in one product ecosystem.

Summary

Best for
Homes that want surplus generation directed between a car, hot-water or heating load, and a compatible battery system.
Less suited to
A generic open wireless metering network: the documented device radio link is proprietary and product-generation dependent.
Deployment
Professionally installed mains-connected controllers, current transformers and optional wireless harvi sensor, with app-based monitoring.
Data in
Grid and generation CT measurements, device operating states and libbi battery information within the myenergi system.
Pricing
UK product pages offer equipment purchase and installation enquiries; use a current local quote for the complete installed system.

Overview

myenergi's ecosystem brings together EV charging, heating and battery storage. Its products use information about generation and household demand to decide where energy can be used. zappi charges the vehicle, eddi diverts surplus generation into suitable heating loads, and libbi stores energy for later demand. These are different destinations for available electricity, presented within one system.

The myenergi app provides a shared view of the household equipment. That is particularly useful where a home has more than one flexible load: the owner can understand battery use, car charging and energy flows together, instead of treating each device as a separate timer with no knowledge of the others.

Offering

zappi combines ordinary grid charging with modes that respond to surplus solar or wind generation. eddi serves a different load, diverting surplus energy toward domestic heating rather than the car. The right combination depends on which flexible uses are actually present in the home and when they need energy.

libbi adds battery storage, with the current UK page describing 5 kWh modules and example systems from 5 to 20 kWh. It supports new solar installations and AC-coupled retrofit arrangements. Grid charging allows use without solar, while app settings govern priorities and charging preferences. Battery energy capacity and inverter power remain separate choices within the specified configuration.

Products and platforms

  1. harvi

Technology

The zappi v2.1 installation manual documents a proprietary 868 MHz or regional 915 MHz device link. It also explains master-device selection and CT configuration. harvi carries CT information wirelessly to compatible myenergi equipment and harvests energy for its own operation; it reduces the cable run to the controller, not the need for a correctly installed CT.

This radio is not Zigbee or LoRaWAN, and the reviewed documents do not establish a tested Edge connection. The manual is tied to its named generation. Grid and generation measurement locations, phase assignment and device roles are the important commissioning details for making the system's energy decisions correspond to the actual installation.

Integrations and interoperability

  1. Hive Home app

    EV charging integration

Manufacturer announcement dated September 2025 describes linking zappi to the Hive Home app for charger control and energy-use information.14

  1. BT and Openreach

September 2025 agreement announced for supplying zappi home chargers to staff supporting fleet electrification, with OVO Energy as installation partner. Announced supply is not a completed-installation count.15

Markets

Gridpay adds an optional grid-flexibility service for eligible zappi owners. It can adjust charging in response to grid needs, with a Boost Now override when the driver needs an immediate charge. This service is distinct from the charger's ordinary solar-surplus mode and depends on programme eligibility.

In September 2025, myenergi also announced a BT and Openreach agreement to supply home chargers supporting fleet electrification, with OVO Energy handling installations. Its Hive announcement describes charger control through the Hive Home app. These examples extend the product's use beyond a private solar household into staff charging programmes and another consumer energy platform.

Company

The company story dates myenergi's beginning to 2016, founded by Lee Sutton and Jordan Brompton. It describes the original aim of charging an electric vehicle from household solar generation and the subsequent expansion into heating diversion, wireless measurement and battery storage. That history explains why the product range centres on coordinating energy within a home.

The published UK contact address is at Pioneer Business Park in Stallingborough, near Grimsby. The story also records overseas subsidiaries and an installer network. This profile treats 2016 as the business origin, rather than the incorporation date of every regional sales entity; the current UK website footer identifies myenergi GB Ltd separately.
