Overview

MeterInsight supplies energy-management software for organisations that need to bring several sources of consumption data together. Its platform overview separates the visual energy-management application from the Energie Datahub, which makes standardised information available through a REST API. A service provider can therefore use the customer-facing application or retrieve data for another software workflow.

The user documentation follows a practical hierarchy from organisation to building and individual meter. Electricity, gas, heat and water totals share this structure, allowing portfolio comparisons without treating every commodity as an electrical measurement. The company supplies software and data connections rather than a proprietary field-meter range.

Offering

The energy-management application supports consumption analysis, daily patterns, contracted-power comparisons and cost calculations. Users can examine monthly totals and drill down to daily and interval readings where those readings exist. Charts export as Excel, CSV or PNG, making the application useful for both routine monitoring and reports prepared outside the platform.

The white-label option adds a partner's logo, colours, URL and notification identity. Branding extends to automatic emails, reports and dashboards, rather than only replacing a login-page logo. This gives an energy adviser a branded service while MeterInsight maintains the underlying software and develops the common product.

Technology

MeterInsight's platform page groups integrations by main meters, submeters, heat and water meters, solar installations, building systems, energy markets and weather. Its homepage describes adapters for Dutch metering companies and ODA status for retrieving small-consumer readings from EDSN. The Energie Datahub exposes collected information through a REST API; it is a software interface, not an electrical-meter protocol.

The analysis documentation also explains data quality and interpretation. Missing datapoints are shown explicitly, degree days can be compared with gas use, and dynamic prices come from identified market sources. Platform roadmap items remain distinct from completed features, so a planned import function should not be assumed available merely because it appears on the roadmap.

Markets

The customer examples include energy advisers, property organisations and companies providing optimisation services. WonenBreburg, Syplon, Covolt and CFP appear in that published customer collection. These uses fit a platform that aggregates readings across buildings while allowing an intermediary to remain the customer-facing energy specialist.

MeterInsight describes itself as a software company that does not compete with its customers by providing consultancy. Its white-label service supports that positioning: advisers can deliver a branded reporting environment without developing a separate energy-data platform. For organisations operating outside the Netherlands, the available adapters and data permissions matter more than the presence of a generic dashboard, because Dutch market-data access is a specific part of the offering.

Company

MeterInsight's company history dates the start of platform development to 2018 and names Norbert Huurnink as founder responsible for product development. The same page gives its Utrecht address and describes a team spanning software development, marketing, finance and user-experience design. Microsoft Azure forms the cloud foundation for the service.

The company announced ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification by KIWA in March 2023, and its current homepage continues to report both. These relate to quality management and information security. They are different from the REST API and data adapters that connect the product to other systems, and should not be presented as certifications of particular field devices.
