Connected electrical distribution and energy measurement
Landis+Gyr supplies utility metering, communications and grid software, with region-specific portfolios and a separately owned former EMEA business.
Landis+Gyr supplies technology for utility networks, bringing together meters, communications and software rather than selling only an isolated measuring instrument. Electricity consumption remains a core measurement, but newer platforms also expose information about conditions at the grid connection. This can support utility operations as well as the customer's consumption record.
The Revelo E360/E660 family is one example, combining metering with processing for grid applications. Product geography matters: the current group concentrates on the Americas and Asia Pacific following its 2026 EMEA divestment. Older European product literature must therefore be read with its original business context in mind.
The North American Revelo E360/E660 family includes residential and commercial or industrial variants. The product page distinguishes E360 disconnect options from the E660 wide-voltage version without a disconnect. It also describes high-resolution current and voltage data feeding an integrated processing card for grid applications, including anomaly detection.
The separately documented APAC E360 uses LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT connectivity and supports smart-push data delivery to a head-end system. Its listed measurements include voltage, total harmonic distortion and power factor. These similarly named regional products should be compared through their own specifications rather than combined into a single set of features.
Network used in the announced Festival Hydro Revelo deployment.8
The APAC E360 specification describes cellular connectivity, DLMS security suites and variants with wired or wireless M-Bus. Those details belong to that regional meter family. The North American Revelo page instead describes its Gridstream Connect application environment, Wi-Fi and Wi-SUN capabilities alongside onboard processing. The communications architecture is therefore inseparable from the selected product and utility deployment.
For an external monitoring project, a published protocol label is only the starting point. Meter access, credentials, available data objects and the utility's operating arrangements determine what can actually be read. This company profile makes no claim of verified EpiSensor Edge compatibility or unrestricted access to utility-owned meters.
Festival Hydro's March 2026 project announcement describes an Ontario deployment of Revelo grid-sensing meters over the Gridstream RF Mesh IP network. It identifies an intended estate covering the utility's 23,000 customers and places the work within an ongoing modernisation programme. That is a deployment announcement, not evidence that every endpoint had already been commissioned on the announcement date.
The use case extends beyond replacing billing registers: the stated aims include demand flexibility, planning and long-term reliability. The Revelo product description helps explain the connection, with current and voltage data processed for grid applications. A utility evaluating this approach is buying an operational system as well as meters.
Landis+Gyr's history begins in Zug, Switzerland, in 1896. The company later expanded into electronic and digital metering, acquired businesses supporting advanced metering infrastructure, and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange in 2017. Its current site locator identifies the group headquarters in Cham.
The EMEA sale completed on 8 April 2026, transferring that regional business to AURELIUS. The former EMEA operation subsequently introduced the EYKON brand in August 2026. This is a substantive company boundary: EYKON's regional metering portfolio and historical customer projects should not be presented as though they remained wholly owned operations of the listed Landis+Gyr group.
