Grid inertia, system strength and waveform measurement
Quandify supplies clamp-on water monitors and leak-protection products, with different radio and installation paths for buildings and portfolios.
Quandify develops water-monitoring and leak-protection products with three distinct installation paths. Its water-monitoring comparison separates Water Grip, CubicMeter and CubicSecure by the task they perform, the network they use and whether they act on a leak. This avoids treating every water sensor as an automatic protection system.
Water Grip and CubicMeter clamp onto existing pipes for monitoring. CubicSecure is installed at the main inlet and can close the supply. The communication choice also differs: the Wi-Fi products use the Quandify app and portal, while CubicMeter can deliver readings through LoRaWAN or wireless M-Bus into a customer's own platform.
CubicMeter is offered in separate versions for supported plastic and metal pipes, with the reviewed comparison describing diameters from 15 to 25 mm. Matching the material and dimensions is therefore part of selecting the meter, rather than a setting that makes every pipe suitable. Its intended uses include per-unit consumption visibility and allocation of a building's water use.
Water Grip targets abnormal-flow alerts using an existing Wi-Fi connection. It informs a person instead of closing a valve. CubicSecure adds automatic shut-off through a valve installed at the water inlet, together with pressure testing. That changes both the protective function and the installation work required.
The CubicMeter communications guide describes LoRaWAN and wireless M-Bus as separate delivery options. Device registration in the partner portal provides access to the identifiers and encryption keys needed for integration. For wireless M-Bus, the guide specifies 868 MHz, C1 mode, format A and security mode 5, with messages every twelve hours.
Those timings matter when comparing an allocation feed with an immediate alarm workflow. The current product comparison positions CubicMeter as a data source for an existing network server or property platform. Water Grip and CubicSecure use the Quandify app and portal instead, and a Water Grip REST API is available on request rather than presented as an anonymous public endpoint.
Apartment and property portfolios can use CubicMeter to obtain per-unit water data without cutting every supply pipe. The appropriate pipe version and installation conditions remain important to the measurement. Allocation of a shared bill is the application described by the manufacturer; it does not by itself establish approval for every regulated billing jurisdiction.
For a single building where damage prevention is the priority, CubicSecure offers automatic action at the inlet. Water Grip provides a less invasive monitoring path where an alert to the responsible person is sufficient. Comparing these alternatives starts with the desired response to a leak, followed by the available network and access to the pipework.
The contact page identifies Quandify AB at Gustavslundsvägen 151E in Bromma, Sweden. Its company history describes the development of the first CubicMeter by Thibault Helle and Ramtin Massoumzadeh following work at Sweden's Royal Institute of Technology, with support from Olle Henning. Latour’s investment announcement dates the business founding to 2017.
The company maintains a dedicated resource centre with installation, connectivity, decoding and troubleshooting material. That resource is particularly useful for a portfolio deployment because physical pipe setup and communication onboarding are separate steps. The available documentation should be matched to the installed CubicMeter version before preparing a repeatable rollout configuration.
